Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Some Christians try to use grace to justify continuing sin. Here’s what I mean, “I know it’s wrong to (insert pet sin here), but I’m saved so Jesus already paid for it anyway.” It’s like the person is a circus elephant and Jesus is the guy that walks around behind him cleaning up the poop. Paul’s response to this attitude is, “God forbid.” If I tell my wife I will love her forever and she says, “Cool, so I can have a boyfriend on the side,” I would not approve. True love in a true relationship does not permit either person to walk all over the other. In a strong relationship, both want to please the other. How is your relationship with Christ? Is He a Saviour your love works to honor or do you see Him as poop-scooper that just cleans up your messes? Hint: If you have no conscience about sin, you may have no true relationship with Christ.
